Westlaw's "root expander" allows you to search for all possible endings of a search term at the same time. The root expander is designated with an exclamation point (!) at the end of the search term. For example, if you want to search for educate, educates, educated, education, educational, etc, you would only need to use the search term "educat!".
When using the root expander, be sure that you have shortened the search term as much as you can. Using the term "educate!" will only search for educate, educates, and educated.
