WSCUC Seeking Accreditation Visit 1 (SAV1)

The University of the South Pacific is scheduled to host the WSCUC Seeking Accreditation Visit from 11 to 13 April, 2018. The Institutional Report for this visit is due by 31 January, 2018.

Mock Accreditation Visit

Prior to SAV1, the University will host a Mock Accreditation Visit, which is scheduled to take place from 13 to 17 November, 2017. The Institutional Report was submitted to the panel on 14 September 2017. To ensure maximum value is obtained from this visit, the process used for the SAV1 needs to be followed as closely as practically possible.

The process used has been to convene meetings with each Working Group for each WSCUC Standards, over the last 12 months to ensure clarity on the meaning of the four standards of accreditation and each criteria for review (CFR), and to identify evidence for any claims made in the report.

The WSCUC Vice-President, Dr. Maloney also provided detailed guidance helping in the interpretation of the standards, and the types of evidences we should provide. Our Fulbright Specialist, Professor Keith Roberts, also provided detailed guidance and critiques of all of our work. He also prepared a series of positon papers (available via the WSCUC Moodle shell), which helped interpret and/or translate between US views and our context (e.g., around credit hours vs. credit points).  We also have drawn upon the guidance provided by WSCUC at the WSCUC Academic Resource Conference (ARC) that Prof. Richard Coll, DVC LTSS, the WSCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), and Ms. Sujlesh Sharma, the WSCUC Accreditation Project Coordinator (APC) attended in San Diego in April 2017. All of these inputs were used in crafting the Institutional Report.
