Planning & Quality Office

The Planning Office

The Planning Office supports the strategic and operational planning of the University’s academic and support sections (functional areas), and spearheads and brokers management information to support departmental and institutional decision-making.  The core emphasis of the Planning Office is on the achievement of functional area outcomes (longer-term objectives).  Outcome-based project planning and management, combined with outcomes measurement can improve intra-organisational alignment and synergy, improve data collection on outcomes, improve data-informed decision-making, improve learning and knowledge management, improve resource allocation, set priorities and focus, improve monitoring evaluation and reporting, and improve benchmarking and continuous improvement.  To facilitate the above, two major tools used and managed by the Planning Office are SPOMS V2 (Strategic Plan Online Monitoring System) and DIBS (Dashboard & Business Intelligence System).

SPOMS V2 (Strategic Plan Online Monitoring System)

For up-to-date achievements on outcome-based planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting on the University’s Strategic and Operational Plans using ‘traffic light’ monitoring system, visit SPOMS V2 here: https://mis.usp.ac.fj/spms/mainpages/default.aspx

DIBS (Dashboard & Business Intelligence System)

For up-to-date data on outcomes achievement go to DIBS.  DIBS is a Management Information System (MIS) which provides up-to-date metrics (refreshed every 24 hours) on student data and student success indicators.  This is the primary tool for management to get diagnostics on Admissions, Admission rates, Registrations, Enrolment, Enrolment yield, Pass rates, 1st year Retention, Cohort completion rates and Completions; and, by the different dimensions such as: Campus, type of Attendance, Gender, Nationality, Age, Programme, Sponsor, Mode of study, Faculty, School, Subject, Course, etc.  The performance metrics on DIBS advises if the activities designed, planned and executed to achieve the outcomes are actually achieving results or not.  All University staff have access to DIBS.  Visit DIBS here: https://planning.usp.ac.fj/pnq/web/mainpages/default.aspx
