    SIGN-IN FORM-Students must sign in before and after entering the Library to keep track of students           using the Library.

    USP Tonga Campus Library have the following sections:

    ·        RESERVE COLLECTION: This collection includes textbooks that students are currently using for their classes. Students can check these textbooks out overnight to return the next day. Late fees of $1 apply.

    ·        REFERENCE COLLECTION:  This collection includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, maps, and other reference materials to be used ONLY in the library, NOT to borrow.

    ·        PACIFIC COLLECTION: This collection consists of both the Pacific Collection and a Tonga Collection. We have old newspapers, law books, a book of Queen Salote Songs and Poetry, and more. We also have fiction written by many Pacific authors from ‘Epeli Hau’ofa to Albert Wendt. Our newest collection will be the Tonga PHD theses Collection which is aimed to complete by July 2018. All Pacific Collection books MUST stay in the library.

    ·        GENERAL COLLECTION: Many titles in the main collection including older textbooks, non-fiction as well as fiction for leisure reading.

    ·        PERIODICAL COLLECTION: Different magazines and newspapers in this section also available online.

    ·        LIBRARY COMPUTER SECTION: Desktop computers and five laptops are available to both students and members of the community who have a library card.

    ·        AUDIO VISUAL COLLECTION: This collection consists of many academic and informational DVDs such as National Geographic documentaries.

Membership & Borrowing

Membership & Borrowing

Borrowing of any items from the library required valid membership. Students who currently hold a valid USP ID cards will be borrowed from the library. Public or external borrower should pay $10.00 as a 1 year library membership fees.

*Reserve items can be borrowed at 4:00pm, and must be returned before 10:00am the next day in order to avoid fines. $1.00 for a reserve item returns after 10:00am and .20c applied for every hour until the item return to the library.

Information Desk

Library offers reference services in person via the Information Desk, by telephone and online by email: fifita.lolohea(at)usp.ac.fj. This service provides reference assistance, library instruction and locating information needed by any library users and public.

Inter-library Loan

Inter-library Loan

Items not held by the Library may be obtained through the Library’s Interlibrary Loan service. This service is “library to library”. An ILL application form with full bibliographic details must be completed. Items will be loaned for 28 days and it can be extended before its return. 

Database Searching

Library users are allowed to use the computers in the Library to search through online indexes and databases with or without the help of Library Assistants.

Internet Access

Internet Access

Internet access is provided to USP students and staffs with valid ID cards. Wireless for students is available in the Library, and provides access to network functions including email and Internet. Configuration and system requirements will be done by the IT staffs. 

Library Tours

Library Tours

Library tours are conducted each semester at the Orientation Day and can be organized for specific courses and academic programme. High Schools and other Institutions are welcome to organize a tour of the library.
