The Shrikisun Balgovind scholarship provides scholarships to TWO deserving person(s) from the two major ethnic communities in Fiji. An Itaukei and a Fijian of Indian decent.
Currently two scholarships for full-time degree studies for an Itaukei and a Fijian of Indian decent is available at the University of the South Pacific from Semester 1, 2017.
The students should meet the following criteria:
(a) The applicant must be holding Fijian citizenship;
(b) The applicant’s parents or guardians have a combined income of no more than FJ$20,000 per annum; and
(c) The applicant meets the USP admission criteria of the degree programme OR is already pursuing a degree programme, either at undergraduate or postgraduate level at USP and has achieved a GPA of 2.8 or higher.
This Shrikisun Balgovind Scholarship will cover tuition fees, book allowance and living allowance per semester, in addition to General Service and Health Service fees.
(a) Complete the USP Scholarship Application form available at Student Administrative Services (Laucala Campus) or may download the form at the following link www.usp.ac.fj/forms;
(b) Provide an explanatory letter and supporting documentation on parents’ or guardians’ income and financial circumstances; and
(c) Submit a USP Application for Admission form for those who are not currently studying at USP this semester.
