Overview
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment (FSTE) brings together a number of different disciplines, from engineering to Physics to computing and computer science. This puts us in a uniquely strong position to work at the interface of and benefit from the synergies between these different disciplines. The purpose of the SEP Research Seminar Series 2011 - 2012 (SEPRSS11-12) is to promote discussions and interactions between research fellows and scholars focused on disciplinary, interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary issues, studies, projects, ideas, concepts, theories, methodologies and applications. We are particularly interested in fostering the exchange of concepts, prototypes, research ideas, and other results which could contribute to the academic arena and also benefit business, and the industrial community. We will also collaborate closely with other Schools within the University, by actively support and encourage inter-disciplinary collaborations. We will expand significantly our international outreach and collaboration, including developing countries. We will continue to build on our collaboration and links with industry, working towards making industrial systems work more sustainable.
SEPRSS11-12 will bring together audiences, so participants, with a focused research, will be able to:
- Present their focused research in a specific area for scholars/researchers specialized in related disciplines.
- Get feedback from researchers with the same specific background and/or in related disciplines, thereby opening the possibility for new applications to/from different discipline.
- Attract speakers with a wider intellectual interest in order to get a more comprehensive conceptual framework.
