At the 2011 Winter Global Conference on Business and Finance held in Las Vegas, Nevada, School of Accounting and Finance (SOAF) staff, Shiro Devi, Rashika Kumar and Sherlin Raju were honored with the 'Outstanding Research Award' for their paper titled "Regulation of Accounting Firms: Evidence from Fiji". Sherlin Raju was also presented with the 'Best in Session Award' for this paper. Rashika Kumar was presented with the 'Best in Session Award' for the authors' second paper, "Partnering with Practice: The Pacific Perspective".
SOAF staff Rajni Devi won the 'Best in Session Award' for her paper titled "Fair Value Accounting: The Accountants and the Users Perspective in Fiji" co-authored by Joycelyn Devi, Rashika Kumar and Charlotte Taylor.
The conference was held from 2nd to 5th January, 2011 at the Flamingo Hotel. This academic conference attracted participants of high quality institutions from all corners of the globe who presented work on a broad mix of academic issues.
