The governance and management structure of the Faculty of Arts, Law & Education (FALE) is mirrored along the lines of the institutional one where the Dean, Dr Akanisi Kedrayate heads the faculty with the extensions of the Senate and Council in the forms of the relevant committees providing advice on academic and non-academic matters.
The Dean along with the Heads of Schools and Directors form the executive arm of the faculty which makes decisions about academic and non-academic matters which are extensively deliberated by the FALE:
- Executive Committee: like the USP Council, it is the governing authority at the faculty level and vets all academic and non-academic decisions undertaken by other faculty committees
- Academic Standards & Quality Committee: an extension of the USP Senate is the academic authority at the faculty level and provides application of academic and quality standards on academic matters
- Research Committee: manages all research and research-related activities
All faculty activities are driven by the FALE Business Plan (2010-2012) which is closely aligned to the USP Strategic Plan (2010-2012). The FALE Business Plan addresses the unique and specific strategic issues through an effective leadership role in scholarship in the disciplines of the arts, law and education and in the Pacific region.
