Educational Ideas from Oceania: selected readings, second edition. This second edition of the book has two new chapters: Hoava educational ideas by Beloved K. Hoava and Educational ideas from Tokelau by Seiuli Aleta. The book still costs only $10.00 and is available from the Institute 'book shop' in the Literacy Centre (SOH building, ground floor) and the USP Book Centre.

Two books, written by Frances Pene and Rejieli Racule, will be a great help to students and teachers in their study of the short stories in Tali Magimagi, weaving stories; short stories for Forms 3 and 4, also published by the Institute of Education.
The students' book contains a variety of activities relating to the short stories. There are suggestions for Readers' Theatre, research, exploring literary features, creative writing, putting their classmates in the 'hot seat', making their own book, and many more, all aimed at helping students enjoy and appreciate the stories. A special Blue Pages section has helpful explanations of literary terms.
The teachers' book has everything that is in the students' book, as well as many tips and explanations for teachers, including a section on revision quizzes.
Na Cakau Fomu 3 & 4 and Na Cakau Fomu 5 & 6
At each level, there is a book of plays, short stories, poems and meke, written in Fijian specially for students studying in Fiji's schools. Accompanying this text is a book of student activities based on the text and also a book for teachers, to guide them in the work they do in the classroom: Na Cakau: Na Ivola Dusidusi Ni Qasenivuli and Na Cakau: Na Cakacaka Lavaki Ni Gonevuli, all compiled by Rejieli Raculi. The books cost $5.00 each.
