Classes are interactive and oriented towards problem solving; there is little old-fashioned formal lecturing. Instead of academic subjects taught in isolation from each other, common in run-of-the-mill programmes, at USP, our MBA courses are designed to integrate knowledge to build managers' ability to do complex decision-making under stress. The courses are designed, in other words, to teach what practicing managers have to do.Extensive use of group projects enhances teamwork skills. MBA professors meet regularly to discuss subject coverage and approaches used, strengthening the integrated nature of the overall curriculum.
Each of the core and elective courses takes that international and strategic focus which characterizes the best MBA curricula today. Where relevant, e.g. in the Marketing and Finance courses, elements of economic theory are incorporated. Legal and public policy aspects of Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Organisational Behaviour are tightly integrated into the core courses.
The South Pacific Business Environment course integrates economic, strategic, and public policy issues relevant to the international community which constitutes the USP membership.
