This is the first atlas of Fiji. It fills a major gap in information relating to Fiji by providing a quick introduction to the Country and showing the spatial characteristics of various socio-economic aspects of Fiji.
The Atlas covers many issues from physical features to suicides and from agriculture to international trade. Furthermore, the Atlas contains some data released for the first time and includes contributions from acknowledged experts. Although the original design of the Atlas called for the analysis of the population census of Fiji, it has been broadened to include non-census data.
The atlas has been produced with modest resources to reduce the cost and enhance accessibility. Written in English, it should be ideal for those wishing to get an introduction to Fiji and for students in senior secondary and tertiary education.
Produced using GIS technology, all map plates are of a consistent design and layout to improve readability and invite exploration and comparison of the different data sets. Sample Map Plate
