南太平洋大学孔子学院劳托卡教学点举办春节庆祝活动

2017年2月10日,南太平洋大学孔子学院劳托卡教学点举行了别开生面的春节庆祝活动,与校区百名师生共庆鸡年的到来。校区主管Pramila Devi女士等也亲临现场祝贺并致辞。

南太孔院劳托卡教学点在教学楼精心布置了春节文化元素展示台,设计并印制了精美的春节宣传海报,供师生取阅以了解春节的相关知识。活动当天,孔院师生首先展示了中国茶艺,邀现场师生品中国茶。接着讲解了中国剪纸文化,并请学生亲身体验了剪纸的过程。曾赴中国游学的孔子学院奖学金生也为大家详细介绍了她们的中国之旅、中斐两国的文化差异以及奖学金相关事项。在一片茶香与欢声笑语中,斐济师生对中国有了更加深入的了解。

此次春节庆祝活动在抢红包活动中达到了高潮。在抢红包环节,南太孔院不仅准备具有中国特色的美食供大家品尝,更在红包中准备了许多有关中华文化的题目供现场学生抢答,答对者可获得由孔院提供的小礼品。现场气氛热烈,学生们抢答十分踊跃,几分钟内所有红包一抢而空。

本次活动不仅促进了斐济师生对中国的认识与了解,激发了当地更多群众学习汉语的兴趣,更提升了孔子学院在斐济西区的知名度与影响力。有学生在活动结束后接受采访表示,中国十分吸引人,他一定要加倍努力学习汉语,有朝一日去中国体验精彩的中国文化。

Happy Spring Festival—CI-USP Lautoka Campus Celebrated Chinese Spring Festival

On 10th of February 2017, the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific (CI-USP) Lautoka Campus held a cultural function to celebrate the Chinese New Year of Rooster. Dr. Pramila Devi, Director of USP Lautoka Campus attended the function and gave a speech.

Chinese lectures and students in CI-USP Lautoka Campus presented Chinese Tea Ceremony and then invited participants to taste it. Chinese Paper-cutting was also demonstrated by Chinese language course students. All the participants took part in paper-cutting with scissors and colorful papers provided and followed the instructions given by CI-USP teachers. Two CI Scholarship students introduced their trip in China and the cultural difference between China and Fiji. 

In the last part of the function, a lot of questions on China and Chinese culture were prepared for participants and special gifts put in the red envelopes were given for each correct attempt. The students at present were so active in answering the questions that all red packages were given out quickly. After being rewarded, participants enjoyed the traditional Chinese snacks offered by CI-USP.

Through the happiness and laughter, participants had deeper understanding of China and showed great interest in learning Chinese language. The reputation of CI-USP and the influence of Chinese culture on western part of Fiji has been greatly enhanced. During the interview after the function, students expressed their wish to travel and study in China one day.
