Ambassador Huang Yong Met with New Teachers at Confucius Institute in Fiji

On November 21, the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Mr. Huang Yong met with Director of Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of South Pacific (USP) Li Denggui and two new-coming Chinese teachers Chang Guilan and Wang Xuzhe.
During the meeting, Director Li Denggui reported the work that has carried out by CI in this year and its future development plan. He also gave his sincere appreciation to Chinese Embassy in Fiji for the great support and help they have offered.
Ambassador Huang fully affirmed the achievement CI has made and offered his ideas and suggestion to the development of CI. He hopes the teachers at CI can be more innovative and open-minded to ideas in order to contribute on cultural exchanges and friendship enhancement between the two countries.
Ambassador Huang also extended a warm welcome to the new teachers, briefly introducing on the social, cultural and educational conditions in the country. He inquired about their work and life in the surroundings and encouraged the teachers to be interactive with local people to get used to the new life and run into the working state as soon as possible. Mr. Huang expects the teachers to make more contributions on Chinese education in Fiji.
The Director of the Policy Research Office in Chinese Embassy to Fiji Madame Li Lihong was attending the meeting.
The new teachers’ coming will bring the further improvement of the faculty construction in CI at USP. It will also upgrade the Chinese credit course development at USP; push forward the experimental courses setting at primary and secondary schools in Fiji and speed up the new teaching areas’ establishment in other campuses.
