Student and Staff Internet Quota Increase

USP wishes to announce an increase in internet quota for all staff and all students across the campuses, effective as of 1st September, 2012.

The new internet quota arrangements will be:

1.       Undergrad students will now get 800MB (100% increased)

2.       Postgraduate students will now get 1.2GB( 100% increased)

3.       PhD students will now get 2GB (100% increased)

4.       Staff members will now get 3GB (50% increased)

This comes as result of the University listening to your feedback and making improvements to benefit your learning and teaching experience here at USP.

Internet Quota will be given on the first day of every month and automatic use of the Internet when you login to a USP PC or use the USP University wireless services on your laptop.

The increase is all done for you automatically — no need to sign uppay up, or set up!

Why the increase:

1.      Current Internet quota system has been there for the last 4 years

2.      Recent upgrading of core internet infrastructure and successful negotiations with Internet Service Provider, Australian Academic & Research Network (AARNET) of Australia

3.      Increasing requirements from both students and staff for more Internet quota for their academic research and course requirements

Staff and students are reminded to adhere to proper use of the service as guided by the USP Internet Use Policy.
