Occupational Health and Safety Unit
The Occupational Health and Safety Unit of the University of the South Pacific is located within the Section of Property and Facilities.
Functions
The functions of the Occupational Health and Safety Unit is to coordinate the implementation and monitoring of health and safety programs, activities and equipment in all Property and Facilities of the University of the South Pacific and ensuring that the Occupational Health and Safety policy of the University is complied by everyone within its premises. The following services are provided to the university by the unit - Hazard and Risk Management - Audits, Inspections, Fact Sheets and Advisory
- OHS Training , Awareness & Procedures - Hazards, OHS Legislation, Personal Protective Equipment
- Emergency Preparedness – Procedures, Drills and Exercises ( Fire,Earthquake,Tsunami,Cyclone)
- Building Safety Training – Fire Safety, Fire Warden Training, Evacuation Plans and Procedures
- Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Monitoring –Heat,Humidity,Confined Spaces
- Injury Investigation and Prevention
