Institute of Education Advisory Board Meeting 2012

The Institute of Education held an advisory board meeting in Laucala Campus, USP on the 3rd of November, 2012. There were participants from the different islands of the region attending the meeting including Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and Tuvalu. Also, there were representatives from the different corresponding organizations such as SPBEA, NZAID, UNICEF and UNESCO.

Dr 'Ana Maui Taufe'ulungaki, the Minister of Education and Training in Tonga was the chairperson in the meeting. The board elected a new chairperson for the next two years which was given to Ms Katalina Taloka the Director of Education in Tuvalu.

KEY OUTCOMES

The IOE Board had

(1) Approved Strategic Plan 2013 - 2015

(2) Approved Work Plan 2013

(3) Agreed to hold an IOE Board meeting every 2 years

(4) Commended on IOE for its achievements in the previous years
