In October 2013, the Academic Quality Agency for New Zealand Universities conducted an audit of USP that focussed on Teaching and Learning and Student Support. This was the second external audit at the institutional level occurring every five years. USP had presented its Performance Portfolio 2013 with supporting documents. The Audit Panel assessed USP's 2013 Self Review Porfolio and later the delegations of the Panel visited main Laucala Campus and regional campuses, namely Emalus Campus in Vanuatu and Tonga Campus. The Panel interviewed close to 170 staff and students and was pleased to note that the momentum evident in the follow-up to 2008 audit had been sustained.
It is hoped that the audit will assist USP as it moves forward with the implementation of its Strategic Plan 2013-2018.
The Audit Panel presented its findings in the USP Academic Audit Report 2013.
University quality audits are carried out by panels of trained auditors who are selected from universities' senior academic staff and other professionals with knowledge of academic auditing and evaluation.
