External Quality Audits - University of the South Pacific |
In 2007, USP underwent a joint audit by AUQA and NZUAAU. The audit was administered by AUQA in consultation with NZUAAU. The major aim of the audit was to consider and review the procedures USP had in place to monitor and achieve its objectives. For the 2007 quality audit, USP had presented its Performance Portfolio 2007 with 26 supporting documents. The Audit Panel considered these materials and as part of the audit of USP, delegations of the Panel visited the main and regional campuses. The delegations interviewed, managerial, administrative and academic staff, students and alumni; inspected the facilities; and reviewed the documents.
The Audit Panel presented its findings in USP Quality Audit Report 2008.
USP is currently preparing for its second quality audit. The audit will be administered by Academic Quality Agency for New Zealand Universities (AQA).
University quality audits are carried out by panels of trained auditors who are selected from universities' senior academic staff and other professionals with knowledge of academic auditing and evaluation.
The Planning and Quality Office is responsible for coordinating institutional quality audits.
