Applications are invited from suitably qualified people for the position of Senior Fellow Teacher Education, Institute of Education, Faculty of Arts, Law and Education

The Opportunity

  • Provide technical assistance in the design of course materials for teacher training institutes, upon request
  • Take a lead in the review of a number of pacific island teacher training institutes
  • Deliver courses for pacific teacher training institutes if and when requested
  • Design and deliver training programs for professional development of pacific teachers around the region
  • Will be involved in research projects relating to teacher education and educational development in the region
  • Supervise graduate students and teach education in the region
  • Will be required to travel and work in the 15 member countries of the Institute

The Person We Seek

To be considered for appointment you must have:

  • A PhD in Education with a strong back ground in Teacher Education and at least 5 years of teaching experience at secondary or primary level
  • At least 10 - 15 years of working experience at a teacher training institute in the Pacific region (inclusive of Australia & New Zealand)
  • Demonstrated ability to review and evaluate a teacher training institute
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver a range of teacher education courses, competently using multiple modes of delivery for a wide range of student abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative research and use a range of statistical analysis
  • Good ICT skills especially the working knowledge of MIS and Banner Systems

Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multi - cultural context, highly skilled in report writing and is a confident public speaker.

 

Renumeration

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range: Band 4 TOP$88,330 to TOP$101,920 per annum

                                       (Inclusive of 15% gratuity)
