New Land for Campus

  • Growth of USP in the Region

It is very important that the growth of USP in the region is driven by quality and informed by considerations of equity, accessibility, and flexibility. Wisely considered growth and development will prepare the University well for predictable increases in demand for internationally accredited higher education and subsequent higher enrolments at USP.  The Vice-Chancellor and President in June 2012, signed a land lease agreement that will greatly enlarge the Tonga campus.

The 14 acres of land was given by the Tonga Government for campus expansion. This land has been fenced and plans are being developed for a new and expanded campus in Tonga.

Major renovations and expansions to the Tonga Campus is part of Priority Area 5: Regional and Community Engagement under the new Strategic Plan 2013-2018.
