2012 Open Day was very successful for the FSTE Village which won the Open Day Best Academic Services Display. At the entrance to the Village, mascots welcomed and ushered students to the booths. Esteemed Chief Guest, Professor Akira Suzuki, the 2010 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry addressed the crowd and met staff and students. Another crowd-drawer was the dances performed
by the Tuvaluan students.
Beginning from the Facultys Administration booth, the FSTE Schools and Institutes had exciting displays and demonstrations,useful information and games and quizzes for the visitors. A wide range of attractive prizes were awarded to winners.
This years Open Day at the FSTE Village will include:

production of wine in various colours
live and preserved animal and plant specimens
interesting rock and shell samples
dough transformed to bouncing balls
ethanol production from cassava
natural extracts impacting bacterial growth
renewable energy projects
recycling projects
manufactured products from natural resources
Learning and Teaching Office initiatives: mLearning, Early
Warning System, SMS & tablet-based learning
The FSTE Village will be an adventurous tour of discovery,
interactive learning and rewards, not to be missed during the Open
Day.
