Staff Username

  • A USP staff username is necessary to access USP computers, authorized USP websites, online applications such as Moodle, Staff SOLS and many any other IT resources

What is my USP Username

  • Your USP username is normally your surname_first-initial (bloggs_j)

How do I collect my USP password

  • Every new staff receives their initial password via the IT Helpdesk. It is strongly recommended that the initial password is changed

How do I change by USP password?

  • Staff members can change their password by visiting the IT helpdesk or by selecting the keys "Ctrl-Alt-Del" together and then selecting "Change Password"

Connect your computer to the USP network

  • Wireless
    • Connect to the staff wireless network (SSID) listed below and open a web browser
      Wireless Network Name (SSID) - USP_Staff
      For wireless configuration guides and hot spots, visit http://www.usp.ac.fj/wireless/
  • Wired
    • All staff PC's wired onto the USP Network Infrastructure

Access your USP E-Mail Account

  • To access your email, staff members can either open Microsoft Outlook 2010 on their desktop or go to the appropriate web page below and log in with your username and password.

How to Log a help request

  • Please visit the website http://servicedesk.usp.ac.fj
  • Once an assistance is requested, Helpdesk staff members work quickly to resolve it by:
    • Providing you with a helpdesk ticket number
    • Assigning a priority level and following the guidelines for incident management
    • Troubleshoot using online tools and resources and following documented procedures to restore service.
    • Engaging appropriate technical staff for the issue, if necessary
    • Communicating with you and key staff from the Helpdesk till resolution

Staff Internet Services

  • Each USP staff has access to the internet. USP provides staff with access to the campus computer network and the global Internet to support their academic work

Protect your Computer

  • If your Mac or PC does not have anti-virus software, please contact the IT Helpdesk. Official USP antivirus application is McAfee

Student Identification Number

  • A USP student ID is necessary to access USP computers, authorized USP websites, online applications such as Moodle, Student SOLS and many any other IT resources

What is my USPID?

  • Your USPID is the letter S followed by 8 digits found on the front of your USP ID card.

How do I collect my USP password?

  • Every new student receives their initial password on their USP offer letter. It is strongly recommended that the initial password is changed

How do I change by USP password?

  • Students can change their passwords by visiting the IT helpdesk or by selecting "change password"

Access your USP E-Mail Account

  • To access your email, go to the appropriate web page below and log in with your username and password. Students use their USP ID as their username.
  • USP Student Email webite: webmail.student.usp.ac.fj
  • If you forward your USP email to a different provid-er regularly check the spam folder on your USP ac-count to make sure that you don't miss any im-portant message. Also be sure that the spam settings on your non-USP account do not block official email from faculty or staff at usp.ac.fj

Computer Labs and Printing

  • Computer Labs
    • Students have access to the computer labs located around campus. Computer lab opening hours are between 8am to 10pm and 24/7.

Logging in to Lab Computers

  • To log in to the Lab Computers, use your email username and password

Computer Lab Printing

  • Each computer lab has dedicated printer for printing assignments and course materials. To add money to your printing budget, see http://www.usp.ac.fj/printing/.

Computer Purchases

  • USP's Computer shop offers computers, tablets, soft-ware, peripherals and accessories. For more information, visit http://www.uspbookcentre.com/

  • Downloading or sharing, copyrighted materials such as music, movies, television shows without permission of the owner, by the use of file-sharing program or other means, may result in legal sanctions, network access terminations and disciplinary actions.
