PASIFIKA VOICES ENSEMBLE


The Pasifika Voices Choir and its Ensemble is built on the rationale that the Creative arts can inspire and empower whole audiences. In this Spirit the Ensemble continues to strive for excellence through the creative arts and push for credible and positive change in nations of the Pacific.
With this Vision the Pasifika Voices Ensemble have traveled around Fiji and the Pacific, performing at varying levels with the mission to inspire its audiences whilst passing on life lessons and empowering messages.

The Ensemble is a collection of 12 members of the renowned Pasifika Voices Choir, formally known as the Malaga Singers.
The Choir is led by acclaimed composer and musical genius Igelese ETE.


THE PASIFIKA VOICES CHOIR


The Pasifika Voices is an auditioned youth choir comprising of multi-regional and inter-faith based youths who strive to impact their audiences through the use of their Culture.
This is done through the vehicle of Music and Dance. Where appropriate messages of Unity, Peace, Regionalism and Cultural Pride is woven into the fabric of contemporary art, music and traditional dance.
Positive messages as well as real cultural values are woven into each song or dance.
There are 40 dedicated young people who are part of the Pasifika Voices Choir and a further 12 members (Pasifika Voices Ensemble)  who make up the Artists in Residency Program based at the Oceania Centre For Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies.  
The Choir was formally known as the Malaga Singers and was founded and directed by world renowned Conductor, Composer  Igelese Ete.
The Choir’s main missions are to:
 
•    To inspire and serve through Pacific Music and Dance in excellence.
•    To further advance and develop the creative and performing skills of each singer.
•    To promote teamwork and unity in diversity through the learning and respecting of cultures especially that of the Pacific.
•    Empower each member of the Choir so that they may empower each audience.
 
 The Pasifika Voices have organized and performed at various events that have paid special attention to the community we strive to serve and impact.
