Kings Visit
King of Tonga with Senior USP Staff at the Japan ICT Centre
The 20th USP Chancellor, His Majesty King Tupou VI of Tonga and Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u made a historic tour of the University of the South Pacific Laucala Campus on Thursday 5 September, 2013.
In his first official visit as USP Chancellor, His Majesty toured the campus on Thursday morning, meeting with key senior staff and sections of USP.
Their Majesties were welcomed by USP Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Rajesh Chandra, and Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council, Mr Ikbal Jannif.
The final stop of the tour was the Japan-Pacific ICT Centre where His Majesty was taken on a tour by USP’s Director ITS, Mr Kisione Finau.
