Sun Interference Outages - September, 2013
Dear Users,
In March and September every year, the sun’s location in relation to the position of USPNet satellites causes a momentary disruption in communications due to solar radiation interference.
For a period of about 2 weeks during these months, regional based campuses connected via USPNet Satellite infrastructure will experience intermittent outages for a period of about 5 minutes daily.
The actual timing of these outages will differ from campus to campus, however it will generally be over the mid to late September period.
While this is an unavoidable inconvenience, we ask that users do not hesitate to contact IT Services Helpdesk (helpdesk(at)usp.ac.fj; #32117) for any further information.
Sincerely,
IT Services, USP.
