On Thursday 25th August the USP Booth received an estimated 500+ students ranging from Primary to Secondary school, local and outer islands. The USP Booth theme was “Stay Home, Go Far” and “Earn while you learn”; the main message to students was that USP can offer bridging courses, (foundation and preliminary) and all courses to attain a degree.
We were prepared to provide basic information and answer FAQs, such as:
- What Programmes and Courses are available at USP
- Preliminary and Foundation Studies
- Certificates, Diploma, Degrees
- Where is our Campus located
- What Support do we offer students
- Where can students find more information about USP (website, office)

- Students too focused on prizes/freebies/giveaways
- Students (80%) do not know what they want to do after college
- Students are not sure whether they want to go to University after college
- Students are not aware of the number of credits (or subjects) required for University entrance
- Most Students had no idea there is a CI Campus
Recommendations
- Suggest Level 3 and Level 2 students attend first sessions to ensure information/prizes available and not issued out to younger visitors
- Work with Colleges and organise visits to USP Campus, highlighting our services and programs
- Promote benefits of studying At Home to gain qualifications
- Focus on Level 1, 2 and 3 students
