The year 2013 commenced with a significant increase in enrolment at the University of the South Pacific Lautoka Campus.
The freshers received a thorough introduction of the Lautoka Campus and the university to ensure a smooth start to their journey at USP, in a three-day extensive orientation programme.
The Success @ USP programme that commenced on Tuesday, 26th February taught students the basics of university life, introduced them to their new learning environment, their peers, the staff various facilities and support services provided by USP through its Lautoka Campus and other relevant information.
Students engaged in group work and other interactive activities and there were some interesting presentations by the USP staff to help them along their studies.
In a welcome address Campus Director Dr Pramila Devi urged the students to make good use of the orientation programme as she said the information would assist the newcomers in their learning process.
Dr Devi said the aim of the programme was to equip students with relevant information and guide them to take charge of their learning at the university level and beyond.
Staff who facilitated the programme said the studentsí participation in the three days programme was quite encouraging. They said the students presented themselves well in the discussions and they seemed eager to experience the new phase of their learning by the end of the programme.
The new Students found the programme to be very informative and helpful.
