The staff and students of the University of the South Pacific Lautoka Campus and their families had an eventful and fun filled day on Saturday.
Close to hundred people participated in USPís Family Fun Day held at the Lautoka Central School grounds on 01st October.
USPís effort to get together its staff, students and families for a relaxing, fun and entertaining day out was depicted in this yearís eventís theme ďTogetherness in AmusementĒ.
The event featured lots of interesting field games and sports such as book race, sack race, target shooting, penalty shoot, tunnel ball, tug a war, zig zag, touch rugby, mix volley ball, tug a war, zig zag, touch rugby, mix volley ball and soccer. The participants were divided into groups to compete in the various games/sports.
Refreshments and lunch was also provided by USP. The USP Lautoka Campusís 2011 Family Fun Day organizing committee chairman Arunesh Chandra said this yearís event was yet another successful one. However he said the Campus hoped to create better awareness amongst students so it could be organized on a bigger scale next year.
The Family Fun Day is USPís way of acknowledging the hard work and commitment of its staff and students and support of their families and an effort to give something back to them to enjoy.
