The USP Lautoka presented five batches of certificates to students who successfully completed their training with the university’s Continuing and Community Education (CCE) Programme.
A total of thirty-nine students were awarded certificates at a certification ceremony held at the Lautoka Campus on Wednesday, 21 May, 2014.
The five courses are Care Giving Fundamentals, Certificate III in Information Systems, Certificate IV in Business Computing, Certificate II in Professional Development Training and Certificate IV in Training, Assessment and Evaluation. The trainings were facilitated by the Lautoka Campus.
CCE Lautoka Coordinator, Mr. Rajendra Singh told the certificate recipients that these training programmes provided an alternate pathway to education and training for people.
Before presenting the certificates, USP Lautoka Campus Director Dr. Pramila Devi told the certificate recipients that with the use of ICT and rapidly changing requirements of job market towards high performance and competencies, lifelong learning was the answer to keep par with the changes.
“Taking this opportunity I wish to acknowledge your choice and faith in USP as your skills provider,” she said.
“As USP approaches its 50th anniversary in 2008 and moves towards excellence in learning and knowledge creation, you all can be proud recipients of its competency certificates. You can be ambassadors in the communities.”
