Why did you choose this filed of study? It relates to the work i do

Briefly reflect on your life at USP? It was the most memorable time in my life. It was an opportunity to meet and study with others who had the same interest.

Greatest Achievement as a student? Completing the LLB and PDLP program in 4 years instead of 5

Career Highlights since graduation? Started as Crown Counsel with Crown Law Office then moved to become an Assistant Ombudsman. Currently with the Ministry of Transport as a Senior Marine Officer and Legal with the aim to specialize in Maritime and Civil Aviation Law

Who / what do you credit your success to? Who inspires you? MY grandparents taught me to be the person I am today. I am encouraged by people who are activists for social justice because they spend time and effort to improve our lives.

How do you think USP helped you in your career? I was impressed and motivated to study Law at USP by reading the achievements of Prof. Donald Paterson. I think Prof. Paterson did well in promoting the Law School that is why I wanted to study Law.

Describe any challenges you faced and how you overcame them? I have challenged myself with this motto ' If I want to be somebody, If i want to get somewhere then I have to get up and pay attention'.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? To have completed my Masters in Marine and Civil Aviation Law and help contribute towards the safe, sustainable and secure future of the Cook Islands.

What advise would you give to current and future students?

1. Set your goals, draw up a plan to achieve them

2. Aim high, the sky is the limit

What has your involvement been with the USP since you graduated? I give talks to student groups and help with information sharing for USP
