Why did you choose your field of study? Started as a Medical student and then went over to Science. I did not want to be a teacher at that stage.
Briefly reflect on your student life at USP? Lived on campus and enjoyed my life for the time I was at USP. I was able to do my studies and also have a great social life.
Greatest achievement[s] as a student Excelling in Chemistry and being chosen as a Demonstrator after graduating.
Career Highlights since Graduation Production Superintendent of Sugar Mills in Fiji and now Shift Production Manager for the largest gas company in Australia.
Who/what do you credit your success to? What inspires you? My ability to balance family life and my career.
People who have a go and donít look for excuses!
How do you think USP helped you in your career?Taught me to be independent and to think outside the box. It also taught me to respect and tolerate people from different cultures/religions.
Describe any challenges you face to reach where you are today and how you overcame those challenges? Biggest challenge was when I came to Australia in 1989 with my family and I had to start all over again. Fortunately I was able to secure a good job as a Production Supervisor at Arnotts after only being in Australia for 2 months.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years (career and/or personal goals)? Retired and enjoying my life
What advice would you give to current and future students of USP? Study hard but also enjoy your life and donít regret in later years. Respect your fellow students and people in authority because they will respect you back. Always have a GO and never think you CANíT do a task. Treat your employees well and they will put in the extra effort to see you succeed!
