2017

Welcome to USP Health Week 2017

Campus Life in partnership with the Ministry of Health is pleased to be hosting the Annual USP Health Week for the fourth time from Monday 24 July to Thursday 27 July 2017.

The week-long event is aimed at bringing together staff and students with a major focus on encouraging, discovering, improving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle on a budget. The health week will be more interactive and apart from displays there will be activities to be done by the students and staff to empower and help them get involved in taking ownership of their health.

The 2017 USP Health Week is about making a commitment to "Invest in Your Health" and to realize that, Campus is Life is organizing a range of talks, competitions, and physical activity classes, cooking demonstrations and health checkups.

During the week, students and staff can find out how to use the expertise and services provided within the University to reach their full health potential and state of mind.

Stress Management and Health

Many people don’t consider stress management as a factor unless they are on the brink of a burnout. With our busy lives as either a staff or student, it doesn’t seem important to take on the practice of stress management.

However, it is vital to develop healthy stress relieving practices. It will pay off in the long run like better health, increased productivity and more happiness in general.

                               Cancer Awareness. Find Cancer Early

Some cancers can be found early, before they have had a chance to grow and spread. The earlier a cancer is diagnosed the greater the chance it can be treated successfully. Cancer not only affects the person but it has a major impact on the person’s family, friends and work place.

Do the right thing and get checked.

  Fitness Session (Zumba & Hapikido)

Dancing can be transforming. Uplift a tired soul, give free rein to locked-away creativity, and unite cultures. On a more physical level, Zumba is a great mind and body workout. This year we also have Fiji Hapkido Association giving us insight on self-defense, cardio & circuit training.
