Directors and Officers Insurance Policy

Introduction

Welcome to the Directors and Officers (D&O) page of our site. This provides a brief outline of the cover we have under this policy.

Definition: Director or Officer means:

What does the policy cover?

It protects against claims made against a Director or Officer (decision makers) wrongful act for which the USP is legally obligated to pay, it includes defense costs. Cover includes Employment Practices liability (EPL). This covers alleged employment related compensations/benefits.

The policy excludes:   

External company appointments

Sometimes, staff sit on outside bodies as Directors.  Once the formal approval is given, this policy will also cover these USP employees.

Why do we need this insurance?

This policy provides cover for claims made against USP Directors & Officers for a wide range of things. These includes, but are not limited to, any actual or alleged breach of duty, breach of trust, neglect,  breach of authority, libel and slander.

Reporting incidents

Never admit liability. Inform Assurance & Compliance Unit immediately.
