The Deputy Vice Chancellor Learning Teaching & Student Services (DVCLTSS), Professor Richard Coll and the Acting Director CFL, Dhiraj Bhartu participated in the Global High Level Policy Forum at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 9th – 11 June, 2015. This Forum was organized by UNESCO in partnership with the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) and more than 150 policy-makers. Leading practitioners and stakeholders from 55 different countries participated in this 3 day event.
Plenary discussions were held with panels of speakers to address challenges for developing policies on equity, access and quality learning, and the next generation of teachers. Breakout sessions were also held to formulate actions for the above. The USP team delivered a presentation led by DVCLTSS on the issues, challenges and strategies used by USP to ensure lifelong learning.
The Paris message is a call for governments, higher education leaders, academic staff and students to take action so that the issues of access, equity and quality learning outcomes are addressed.
