Why did you choose your field of study?
I was good in accounting in school so I decided to study that at USP. I also had an interest to join the Banking industry so studying banking and finance was a good choice for me. I was lucky to get a scholarship from the multi-ethnic affairs to be able to pursue my dream of getting a degree from USP.

Briefly reflect on your student life at USP
I come from a very poor family and had to work during the holidays to look for extra cash to support my studies. My parents did a lot for me so working part time was my way of helping them.  I used most of my spare time studying in the Library because I couldn’t afford to fail any subjects.

Greatest achievement[s] as a student
Graduating and getting a job. There are a lot of graduates who have to look for jobs so I count myself as one of the lucky ones.

Career Highlights since Graduation
I joined the Bank of the South Pacific (BSP) soon after graduation and have been here for nearly 5 years. I was honored to be awarded the Top Personal Banker of the Year in 2015.

Who/what do you credit your success to? What inspires you?
My parents, all the work mates at Damodar City BSP branch and the bank as a whole. My biggest inspiration was my girlfriend for all her support and best wishes. She was my biggest motivation and reason to work hard every day.
How do you think USP helped you in your career?
USP gave me a chance to study and when I graduated I was able to find a good job. The knowledge I gained from my lectures was relevant to my job.
Describe any challenges you face to reach where you are today and how you overcame those challenges?
Challenges that I faced mostly is making new friends in University but I learnt to step out of my comfort zone and take the first step to making new friends. This has helped me with my customer service, which is an important part of the banking industry.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years (career and/or personal goals)?
Finish MBA in USP.
What advice would you give to current and future students of USP?
