IT-based - Current Students |
Each Campus has computers available for student use (for the preparation of assignments). At the beginning of the semester, orientation sessions on how to use the IT-based learning support services are run. The computers at your campus can give you access to the internet, the USP Intranet, Student OnLine Services (SOLS), email and Class Share.
The Internet
You are encouraged to explore the world wide collection of information on the Internet to research information related to your course. Specific computers in the campus libraries and/or Student Academic Services and/or computer laboratories are available for students to search the net.
The USP Intranet
USP's intranet services makes available a wide range of information about the University. The USP home page is the starting point.
Student OnLine Services (SOLS)
The SOLS facility is available to current students only i.e once you have enrolled and been issued with a login and password. SOLS provides you, as an individual, to a range of personalised services such as online registration, personalised timetables, your grades, student details, bank account details and more.
Class Share
Class Share is an electronic notice board of folders for each current course, usually operational by Week 1 of the semester. Your lecturer will provide you with details of how and when to access your class share. It is used to provide you with updated information and notices on academic matters related to your course, including model answers for your assignments. You should check Class Share at least once a week to ensure you read all notices pertaining to your course on a timely basis.
MOODLE
Some USP courses use MOODLE as a means of communication with class members around the region. MOODLE is an online learning management system that allows you to share your views, interpretations and understanding of the lecture material with the lecturer, tutor and your classmates. You can also access course materials such as lecture notes, activities, and submit assignments. More information on MOODLE can be found here http://www.usp.ac.fj/index.php?id=moodle_portal.
