FAQ's: International Students - Current Students

International Students

  1. Can I study at USP for just one or two semesters?
Yes, provided you are eligible to be admitted to a USP program, and you register for a full-time course load.

  2. As an international student, can I study part-time?
No. Immigration requirements in Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu require that those granted Student Permits be full-time students. The only exception is if it is your final semester of study and you only need to pass one or two courses to complete your program, then you are allowed to study part-time.

  3. When does the academic year start?
Semester I lectures start usually in the second full week of February, with enrolment taking place the week prior to that. Semester II lectures usually start in the third full week of July.

  4. Can I get credit for courses I've already passed at another institution in my home country?
Possibly. Submit an Application for Cross Credit form with the necessary documents attached.

  5. I come from a remote island that has no police and no doctor. How do I get a police report and a medical report?
You may need to visit the capital of your country to get these reports.
