Dr. Akanisi Kedrayate, Acting Dean, Faculty of Arts and Law. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of New England, Australia. Dr Akanisi Kedrayate has served as Head of School of Humanities from 2002 - 2005.  She taught at various primary and secondary schools in Fiji and worked at the Ministry of Education for seven years.  Her professional and research interests are in Community Education, Non-formal and Adult Education, Leadership, Gender and Education, Curriculum Issues and Development. She has travelled extensively in the Pacific region as well as other countries to attend and present papers at regional and international conferences, seminars and also facilitate leadership, gender and non-formal, adult education workshops.

Faculty of Business and Economics

Professor Biman Prasad, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics leads the largest faculty within the University of the South Pacific. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the South Pacific,  Fiji, a Master of Commerce from The University of New South Wales, Australia and a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Queensland, Australia. USP is the South Pacific’s leading international university. Professor Prasad is an international scholar and has contributed significantly to the debate on social and economic issues in the region. From 2003 to 2007 Professor Prasad was Head of School of Economics. Previously he worked in the area of Distance and Flexible Learning. Professor Prasad has an accomplished academic reputation with three books and many articles published on economic development, trade and environment issues. He has published several journal articles and has done consultancy work for international organisations and governments in the Pacific region. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Fijian Studies and Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pacific Studies.
