    The Supreme Court's ruling last year banning shrimp farming for causing environmental damage in the coastal regulatory zone was the first ever setback to the shrimp industry the world  over. Naturally, the shrimp industry lobby,  with the backing of politicians and international institutions like the FAO and multinational investors, has stepped up ist campaign to re-legitimise shrimp  farming.
