The Faculty of Business and Economics seeks distinction in the creation and distribution of knowledge in research, teaching, and consultancy.  Specifically, we are committed to becoming the intellectual center of excellence in Pacific-based public and private sector management education and scholarship.

The Faculty of Business and Economics includes the:

• Graduate School of Business (offering Business Administration courses and programs at the postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma and master's level)
• School of Accounting and Finance (offering programs and courses in Accounting, and Banking and Finance)
• School of Economics (includes Population Studies and Demography) (which offers courses and programs in Economics and Official Statistics)
• School of Management and Public Administration (offering a comprehensive range of courses and programs in Management and Industrial Relations)
• School of Government, Development and International Affairs
• School of Tourism and Hospitality Management
• School of Agriculture
• School of Land Management and Development (offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Land Use Planning, Real Estate and Geomatics)
• Pacific Islands Centre for Public Administration

The faculty was also selected for the 2007/2008 EDUNIVERSAL Official Selection by the International Scientific Committee as one of the 1000 Business Schools that Count on Earth for their International Influence and Recognition. In addition it was awarded with 3 Palmes (Excellent Business School) by EDUNIVERSAL International Scientific Committee in its World Convention held in Paris, France on 4 and 5 November 2008.

The Faculty of Business and Economics offers certificate, diploma and bachelor's degree programs, as well as programs at postgraduate level. The programs offer opportunities either to specialise in a particular academic discipline or alternatively to obtain a general business education. All programs are designed to provide the graduate with an understanding of how specialist skills can contribute to the overall commercial environment.

Opportunities to pursue interdisciplinary studies exist and students are encouraged to consider these. A double major including Information Systems (a discipline offered by the School of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Technology) has proved to be especially popular.
