Study Abroad at USP - Current Students |
USP has a number of formal agreements with institutions outside the region that enable United States students to come and study at USP for one or two semesters. These Study Abroad programs involve groups of students from overseas being based at USP for one or two semesters, and following a pre-determined curriculum agreed to by their home institutions. The students, who come as a group, generally are registered for several USP "Pacific-flavoured" courses related to their own major, and often complete a research project on a Pacific Studies topic. (Current USP students who want information about similar opportunities to study outside the region for one or two semesters, ie to go in the opposite direction, should visit Student Exchange Schemes).
In addition, individual students from the US or other countries can apply to attend USP for one or two semesters, with their courses being counted for credit at their home university. If you wish to do this it is up to you to get a commitment from your home university, before you come to USP, about possible credit. You then need to submit an Application for Admission to an Undergraduate Program or Application for Admission to a Postgraduate Program, whichever is appropriate. The program you will be applying for is "Unclassified Studies/Undergraduate" or Unclassified Studies/Postgraduate" respectively. If you wish to take advanced courses (at 200-level or above), and those courses have pre-requisites, you must complete an Application for Cross Credit Form attaching the required information about the courses that you have already passed, which you believe are equivalent to the required prerequisites.
USP has formal student exchange agreements with the following universities:
Students from these universities should contact their own international officer for more information about studying at USP.
In addition USP is one of 260 institutions associated with the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). Check whether your university is also a member and if it is, how it could help you study at USP.
