FAQ's: Learning Support Services

  1. Where can I get help with my assignment?
    You can ask for help from your tutor during or after your tutorial, or if you need help with researching your topic library staff may be able to assist you. If you are on Laucala campus and having problems writing up your findings, visit CELT and pick up a relevant study skills sheet or talk to someone there. If it is a DFL course, contact your course coordinator for assistance.

  2. I don't understand how to use the Library catalogue. Who can help me?
    At any of the campus libraries, any library staff member will be happy to show you how.

  3. How many library books can I take out at one time, and for how long?
    At the three major campus libraries undergraduate students can borrow up to 10 books for up to 14 days. Students based at other campuses should check with their local campus regarding their borrowing policies.

  4. I know my written English is a bit weak. Is there anyone who can help me improve it?
    Alafua, Emalus and Laucala Campus students should seek help from the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) staff. Other students can get study skills notes that may help, from their local campus.w to use the cataloguer assistance.

  5. I'm thinking of studying French by DFL.  Who can help me with my pronunciation?
    Language courses that are offered by DFL have audio tapes included as part of the course materials.  In addition you will be expected to attend regular satellite tutorials during which you will have conversational practice with others in the course as well as the tutor.

  6. Who should I see about getting help with my Maths?
    Alafua, Emalus and Laucala Campus students should seek help from the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) staff. Other students can get study skills notes that may help, from their local campus.
