Information for PG students
Candidates should be registered in one of the schools of the faculty. Candidates should re-enroll each semester until they have completed their studies. Candidates proceeding to PG study including a thesis enroll provisionally; enrollment being confirmed or canceled after review of a report submitted after 3 months. A masterís thesis (including notes and bibliography) shall not normally exceed 50,000 words in length whilst a supervised research project (for students following the taught route) shall not exceed 30,000 words. Regular progress reports are required during the period of study.
Submission of the thesis or supervised research project
Candidates being examined by thesis shall submit two copies of their thesis (or supervised research project) for examination within the maximum registration period. The thesis or project may be soft cover or ring-bound for the purpose of the examination but, before the award of degree, candidates must deposit for retention by the University two hard-bound copies which have been corrected or otherwise modified if required by the University. A thesis is examined by examiners nominated by the faculty. On examination, each examiner shall report whether the degree be:
- additional work be undertaken and the thesis re-examined accordingly;
- degree be not awarded to the candidate.
