Performance Management System
Performance management at USP is the framework within which we can work cooperatively to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the University and at the same time offer significant opportunities for staff to achieve personal and professional goals.
To be fully effective, performance management is a year-long process, not a single end-of-year event. It considers the totality of an employee’s performance and involves an active partnership between supervisors and staff with staff members requiring ongoing feedback from their supervisors so they are aware of how they are doing and how they need or can improve.
Student Learning Support (SLS)
SLS is an academic and professional unit established to assist the University in its mission to promote and sustain high quality teaching and student achievement. SLS provide staff development programs such as the Certificate/ Diploma in Tertiary Teaching to teaching staff enabling staff to learn about effective pedagogy and develop teaching skills and strategies that enable them to meet the challenges across all modes of study at USP.
Graduate Certificate/ Diploma in Tertiary Teaching
The Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (GCTT) is a two-course program which explores various approaches to learning, teaching, assessment, evaluation, curriculum planning and development in higher education.
As a forum for collaborative work, the GCTT creates learning opportunities for group members to share experiences arising from teaching and research throughout the duration of the program. Course participants are encouraged to reflect on practice as part of their continuing professional development (CPD).
