Any candidate for any course may have his/her course grade reconsidered by the examiner for the course. Where practicable, reconsideration of a course grade shall be done by the examiner in consultation with another member of the Discipline or the External Assessor. Applications for reconsideration of course grade should be made in writing by the student to the Registrar through the Campus Director or Student Academic Services within eight weeks of course result. Applications for reconsideration of course grades must be accompanied by the prescribed fee (see the current Fee Schedule for details).
Reconsideration of course grades shall comprise:
(a) a careful check that each examination question and part
question was read by the examiner and given an appropriate
mark;
(b) a careful remarking of each examination question and part
question;
(c) a careful check that the total examination mark has been
accurately transposed within the proportions (% coursework vs
% terminal examination) previously established by the
examiner.
(d) a careful computation of the marks awarded for all
coursework exercise; and
(e) a careful check that the coursework mark has been accurately
transposed within the proportions previously established by
the examiner.
No information relative to the applications will be placed before the examiner. The fee for reconsideration of a course grade shall be returned to the candidate if, as a result of the reconsideration, the grade for the course is raised.

NOTE: Considerable precautions are taken in our assessment procedures to ensure accuracy and, as a result, applications for reconsideration of course grades which result in a change are exceptional.
