Deregistration

All students that do not pay their tuition fees in full by the due date are levied a $125FJD late fee (called the Late Fee Payment).

Students that do not pay their tuition fees in full within four weeks of the due date of payment of fees will be deregistered.

If you are deregistered the following will occur:

  • your name will be taken off the class lists for the courses that you were registered in and your lecturers advised not to allow you into class

  • you will not be allowed to sit for your examinations

  • your library, computer and email access will be withdrawn

  • you will not receive a final grade even if you submitted coursework

If you plan to resume your studies in the next semester or thereafter, you will be required to clear all outstanding tuition fees before you are allowed to resume your studies.

Note that if you do not pay your ancillary fees in full by the payment due date (such as General Services Fee, Health Services Fee, Locker Hire or Accomodation) your student account will be placed on hold and all IT access withdrawn (but you will not be deregistered).

The following is an excerpt from the 2012 USP Handbook & Calendar

(b) the fee for revalidation of their registration.

11.4    Students whose registration has been canceled in accordance with Clause 11.1, and who do not pay the fees in 11.3 within one month of the cancellation of their registration, shall not be assessed for the course(s), nor allowed to attend lectures, tutorials or laboratories, nor to submit coursework for assessment, nor to sit the final examination(s) in that semester.

11.5    Students whose registration has been canceled in accordance with Clause 11.1, and who do not pay the fees in 11.3 within one month of the cancellation of their registration, shall not be permitted to register in a subsequent semester until they have paid the fees in 11.3 (a)

* Note that this is referred to as the “suspension” of registration as to not confuse it with deregistration.
