Topic: Developing Communication Skills Rubrics

Abstract: This presentation discusses Communication Skills Rubric Designing at The University of the South Pacific. Like most universities, The University of the South Pacific has recently developed its Graduate Attributes. One of the expectations of graduates is to have acquired the necessary communication skills in order to achieve employment and to demonstrate excellent written, spoken, interpersonal skills. While students are still at the University, it is expected that academics would be assessing their studentsí communication skills so that they can develop these skills for better employability. This presentation examines the structure, style and content of communication skills that can be incorporated into the content based rubric designs for most university courses.
