The abstract is as follows:

Strengthening Capacity for Disability-Inclusive Education in the South Pacific

Inclusive education is an important priority internationally and in the South Pacific including Fiji. The Pacific Island countries initiated disability-inclusive development policy in 2005 but have not yet met Development for All goals-United Nations, 2007. This presentation will provide our critical insights about progressing  the inclusive education movement in Australia and in other countries; and describe the current collaborative research project between USP and QUT (funded by AUSAid) that focuses on inclusive education development in schools in Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa and Fiji.

Light lunch will be provided.

ALL WELCOME
