The following process applies specifically to New and Revised courses. You will need to follow this process in order to enable your course to be included on the Course Design & Development portfolio for development:
- Request a copy of the Course Proposal Form from the Secretary of Course Design & Development (CDD), Makarita Erasito on email: erasito_m(at)usp.ac.fj.
- Complete the form and have it endorsed by your Head of Department.
- Your Head of Department will then forward the Course Proposal Form to your Faculty Standards and Quality Committee (FSQC) to be endorsed for submission to the Centre for Flexible Learning (CFL) board.
- The Head of CDD (HCDD) & Senior Instructional Designer (SID) then collates all Course Proposal Forms and submits them to the CFL board for approval for development.
Proposals for courses to be offered as New or Revised in the DFL mode should be part of the planning process of your school/department and faculty. The CFL Board sits twice a year to approve proposals for courses offered in 2 years time. As an example, proposals that will be submitted for the 2008 CFL Board sitting are for courses that are to be developed for 2010.
The SID then assigns a team consisting of the:
- Course Writer (CW)/Course Coordinator (CC),
- Instructional Designer (ID),
- Education Technologist (ET), and an
- Electronic Publisher (EP)
to each course that has been approved.
