Below are the types of Moodle workshops CFL offers:
Introduction to Moodle
This workshop uses a blended learning approach with the first 3 weeks from devoted to introducing the concepts of online learning on Moodle followed by a face to face session on the practicals of using basic Moodle tools.
Increasing student engagement through online learning
This workshop builds on the skills and knowledge obtained from the Introduction to Moodle workshop. This workshop focuses on communication and collaboration tools that can help you and your students communicate with each other. Moodle tools that are covered in this workshop are: Discussion forums, quickmail, journals, blogs, wikis, glossary and chat.
Assessing your students in Moodle
This workshop focuses on assessment tools in Moodle. These are the tools that are designed to facilitate formal and informal self assessments. Moodle tools such as assignments, quiz, discussion forums and glossaries provide an opportunity for lecturers to design, administer and grade activities online, in addition to giving an opportunity to students to self assess and monitor their progress in their USP Moodle course.
Managing and monitoring learning achievement
This workshop focuses on Moodle tools available to assist lecturers with managing student marking and administration for assessment, monitoring students’ activities and progress, creating backups of your online courses, and creating a feedback activity for your students.
Moodle quizzes
This workshop focuses on using online quizzes in Moodle. It covers the steps for designing and developing an online quiz assessment, using Moodle to set up quizzes for specific assessment purposes, e.g. summative, formative and creating feedback in quizzes.
